What is A Lash Lift?

Lash lifts, unlike lash extensions ― which involve adhering false inserts to the lash line to create fullness ― are all about enhancing what a person already has. They’re essentially like a perm for your lashes.

It’s like perming your lashes into a lifted, curled state. But unlike the harsh formulas that were once used to perm the hair on our heads, the treatment for lash lifts is gentler.

It’s also not quite the same thing as previous lash perm methods, which have existed for years, the old method of lash perming used a different formula and a different tool for the lashes.

How Long Does A Lash Lift Lasts?

Typically, lash lifts last for anything between 4-8 weeks depending on your aftercare.

Is It Wudhu Friendly?

Muslim Clients should do their own reading and research and determine if it is permitted for them to have a Lash Lift Session.

In general, the products are free from impermissible ingredients and does not form a barrier that prevents water from reaching your skin.

Researched from IslamQA  - https://islamqa.org/

“Essentially perming the natural lashes so that they are curled and “opens the eyes”.

No extra hair is added and they last for a few months and gradually will return to their normal state”

There are two points to take into consideration with lash lifts:

The first is regarding the process itself. We have made some enquiries regarding the process and based on the information provided to us the process itself does not violate any rules of shari’ah and would therefore be permissible. Also, the companies we contacted, informed us that no product remains on the lash after the treatment, hence that would mean that there would be no barrier for the validity of wudu or ghusl. However, one must ensure that this is also the case where they are having treatment carried out as procedures may vary from place to place.

The second issue is regarding beautification. It is not permissible for a woman to beautify herself then be present in front of non-mahram (unmarriageable kin) men. If the lash lift is done in a manner which is excessive and entices or draws the attention of men then this will be disliked.

One must exercise caution when using contemporary forms of beautification and cosmetic enhancements as there primary purpose is to create an attractive look.

What Is A Lash Tint?

A lash tint is a 15-minute procedure where semi-permanent dye is painted onto the eyelashes to make them appear darker and fuller but it does not thicken your lashes.

Is Lash Tint Wudhu Friendly?

You can choose from the normal Tint which is Non-Halal or using natural Henna Paste to darken the lashes for Muslim Clients.

Note that Non-Halal Tint will last longer than Henna Paste.

Non Halal Tint - up to 3 weeks depending on aftercare.

Henna Paste - up to 2 weeks depending on aftercare.
